Justin Pence
Justin Pence serves as the Research Coordinator for the SoTeRiA-IAP and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Informatics with a focus on socio-technical risk analysis and data analytics. Justin has research experience from the University of Illinois at Chicago working in the area of policy analysis, and at Argonne National Laboratory, working in the area of international safety training. His primary research in SoTeRiA includes; expanding the Socio-Technical Risk Analysis theory, and measuring site-specific organizational failure mechanisms using big data analytics. Other areas include; Human and Organizational Factors, Human Reliability Analysis, Safety Culture, Organizational Modeling, Standards and Documentation Systems, and Management Systems.
